Moto Z expected to offer a new Tango mod

Moto Z

Motorola will reportedly unveil a Tango mod for the Moto Z series smartphone. Speaking to reporters, Motorola Mobility chairman and president Aymar de Lencquesaing disclosed that the company is gearing up to manufacture a Tango augmented reality (AR) mod for the Moto Z handset.

We don’t have any confirmation about when the mod would be released and it’s pricing. However, it is almost confirmed that the Mod is on the way. If you look at the pricing of the previously launched Moto Mods, they are available from $99 to $299.

Recently, Lenovo released Phab 2 Pro, which is the first consumer-centric Tango phone. However, the display size is 6.4-inch, which nearly looks like a tablet. If a mod for the 5.5-inch Moto Z is launched, it would facilitate the use of a phone that is practical to use. Moreover, it enables users to add or remove the Tango capability as and when required.

In the meantime, Lenovo and Moto will work towards building a global branding product under the banner of Moto. Hence, you will not be able to see Lenovo branded products in the near future.

According to Lenovo’s Chief marketing officer Jan Huckfeldt, the main strategy of the company for 2017 will main focus on the development of Moto, ThinkPad, Yoga, and ThinkServer. Going forward, the main smartphone brand of Lenovo will be the Moto brand. However, the company will continue to release handsets under Lenovo banner in emerging markets like India.

Recently, Lenovo K6 Power was launched in India with a 5-inch FHD IPS display, Snapdragon 430 processor, Adreno 505 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera alongside 8MP front-facing snapper. A 4000mAh battery provides adequate power to the handset. Priced at Rs. 9999, the K6 Power is available in Grey, Gold, and Silver color variants.
