Microsoft has officially released Skype for Business for Android, which has been under testing for a while now and finally, it’s availability has reached the public. The new app offers the same user experience that of Skype for Windows, on tablets. Microsoft adds that with the all-new Skype for Business app, even the contact management experience has been made better.
In this new app, contacts within various groups can be searched with ease and additionally, a modern authentication experience has also been introduced for users.
If a user has Lync 2013 application on the device, it will update to Skype For Business for Android automatically. New improvements and features would constantly be brought in by the company.
With the new authentication function, a consistent experience is offered to users. This method is based on access tokens and hence, the credentials of users aren’t stored on the device.
Security has been improved to a great extent and now, it is much beyond just a password and username. With multi-factor authentication, an app notification, text message or a phone call has to be acknowledged by users after the username and password are entered.
With the new design, a Quick Join icon has been brought in. With this, meetings can be joined just with a single tap on it. You can now access recent conversations with one touch. Apart from that, there are options like full-screen video or large call control buttons for muting the conversation.
In the contact search bar, users can search the global address list with a phone number, name or an email. With this feature, searching a contact within the organized business groups has become comparatively easier.
