LG G6 won’t explode like Galaxy Note 7 due to copper heat pipes: Reports

LG is gearing up to unveil the next generation flagship LG G6 smartphone. However, the LG G series are known for its notorious heat generated out of the phone. According to KoreaHerald quoting company sources, the upcoming LG G6 will not overheat even in extremely high temperatures.

According to the company sources, the LG G6 has been equipped with heat pipes made up of copper that has an ability to spread the heat around. The company revealed that because of the existence of heat pipes inside the phone, the battery would not overheat like other previous G series handsets. If rumors are to be believed, the phone will not heat even under 150-degrees.

Internals in LG G6 are kept at a distance

An interesting aspect of the LG G6 is that the handset is specially manufactured to keep the unwanted heat at bay. The internals spare parts such as processor and battery are relocated at a specific distance to reduce the heat. Typically, these kinds of special placements are found on PC and laptops, which will ultimately lower the temperature by 6 percent to 10 percent.

LG G6 tested under 15% higher temperature than standard conditions

Meanwhile, LG disclosed that the battery for the forthcoming LG G6 is currently being tested at 15 percent higher temperature than the normal US and European climatic conditions. This will avoid potential problems such as fires and explosions. The company should also test the phone in harsh Indian climate as well.

If LG can run a promotional campaign by giving special reference to the redesigned internals to reduce the heat, the LG G6 will sell like hot cakes. Moreover, by promising safe batteries inside the phone, the company is looking to attract customers who normally switch to Samsung. Hence, we can safely infer that Samsung’s loss in LG’s gain.

LG G6 specifications

On the specifications segment, the LG G6 will feature a 5.3-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 554PPI, Snapdragon 830 processor, 6GB RAM, up to 128GB internal storage loaded with the brand-new Android 7.0 Nougat. The rear camera will offer a dual 16MP sensor, while the front-facing snapper is expected to bear a 12MP sensor. As of writing, we don’t have any information about the battery capacity, but it will provide support for fast charging.

LG is well aware of the problems caused to Samsung as a result of Galaxy Note 7 explosion and ultimate discontinuation of the handsets. Hence, the company is finding ways to avoid such problems in a premium smartphone like LG G6. Moreover, the G6 will most likely compete with Samsung Galaxy S8 expected to be unveiled during MWC 2017.

Expected to launch well before the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG G6 will be showcased at MWC 2017 with the official launch on March 10. Although Samsung will also showcase the Galaxy Note 7 during MWC 2017, the launch will be pushed to April since the company is waiting for few internal components from the supply chain.
