Lava introduces Iris Atom 2 budget 3G smartphone at Rs 4,949

Domestic Smartphone manufacturer, Lava International has added another device in its kitty with the launched of a new budget 3G Android smartphone named Lava Iris Atom 2 for the Indian consumers. The handset is priced at Rs. 4,949 but is available for purchase at Rs. 4,444 exclusively at Flipkart.

The latest launch by Lava in its Atom line-up, Iris Atom 2 has been designed keeping in mind the budget buyers and at the same time giving the best quality possible.

The handset features a 4.5 inches FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.

Under the hood, the Iris Atom 2 has a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor coupled with 512 MB RAM.

The Iris Atom 2 offers 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB through a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the handset supports 3G bands (GSM – 900, 1800; WCDMA – 2100), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1, GPS, Micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm Audio Jack port.

The Iris Atom 2 sports a 5MP rear camera with an LED flash support and a 0.3MP VGA front camera. The Iris Atom 2 runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat and can be upgradable to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Iris Atom 2 gets power from a 1,750 mAh battery and is compatible with 3G. The device also features gesture control that makes control of the app and the settings easy.

The smartphone segment is getting hotter and in the face of heavy competition, device prices are falling significantly. In the 5K segment, Phicomm Energy 653 is available at Rs. 4,999. It is the most economical handset with 4G LTE capability.

The design of the Iris Atom 2 is good considering the price it is available. However, it’s RAM of 512 MP is a bit bothering. Iris Atom 2 has been created keeping in mind Android users. The Iris Atom 2 will serve its purpose of calling and chatting along with a bit of gaming.

The Lava Iris Atom 2 is currently available in black and white color variants for Rs. 4,949 across all national retail stores, online platforms and multi-brand outlets.
