The Auto Expo 2016 is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 4 February to 9 February. However, the main issue on top is the emission issues, which has hounded the industry for the past few months.
The five-day show is jointly organized by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), ACMA (Automotive Components Manufacturers Association) and the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The Indian Auto Expo is one of the largest car shows in the world. Manufacturers from around the world are lining up to put forth their best products on sale. It includes two most popular categories – SUVs and compact sedans. However, there will not be any paucity of buyers for big SUVs, new MPVs and luxury sedans.
The show will be a platform for the unveiling of more than 80 new models and is expected to draw more than 7 lakh visitors.
One of the eagerly awaited cars will be the right-hand drive, a car with brute power – Ford Mustang, which will make its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new Mustang comes with a new 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine and the fire breathing V8.
CII Director General, Chandrajit Banerjee in a statement said that the Auto Expo has seen a tenfold rise from 152 exhibitors to 1,580 exhibitors in 2016 in a short period of thirty years.
