Every year, Google gives birth to a Nexus Android smartphone by swapping manufacturers each time. The main motive behind the release of Nexus 2016 is to provide a pure Android experience instead of decorating them with complicated skins.

On the specifications front, the new HTC Nexus 2016 will be equipped with a 5-inch and 5.5-inch displays. Both of them will bear FHD IPS display as per the latest standards.
Currently, the Nexus is available in 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch variants, and Google is planning to make a shift in the design arena to enable the device to suit different users. As per reports, Google is planning to release three variants of Nexus 2016 instead of two display variants.
Talking about hardware specifications, the HTC Nexus 2016 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 820 processor, up to 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, in addition to a USB Type-C port for fast charging.

While the main camera will have at least 16MP sensor, the font-facing sensor will feature an 8MP sensor, which is higher than the currently available Nexus devices.
There are reports that Nexus 2016 will also include a fingerprint sensor on the rear side instead of a physical home button. According to rumors, Android N will ditch the apps tray, and this will be featured on the Nexus 2016 device.
The new Nexus device will be shipped with an improved battery, probably that of a 3,000mAh or 4,000mAh battery.
