The new Mercedes-Benz E-class is all set to be launched at the 2016 Detroit Show to be held in January; however, its range of new interior features has already been revealed. The interior of the new car has been inspired by company’s topping saloon range, the S-Class. It comes with lower-end variants, tachometer gauges placed on either side of a seven-inch-multi-information display, 8.4-inch display in the dash center and a conventional speedometer.
A new addition in the form of solid buttons has been introduced to activate primary driver assistance systems. Earlier it used to be a whole dance and song of Distronic Plus menu through the screen of the instrument cluster. The big news is that the new Mercedes will have more screen space than the local IMAX.
Few other features of the next generation Merc include touch control buttons on the steering and dual display screens.
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class car will be available in two differently designed center consoles depending upon the transmission. The new displays ensure that the optical instruments are in the direct vision field of the driver and can be switched between Progressive, Sport, and Classic.
Apart from the tech features the new E-class will also come packed with several new interior options including new seat, seat-stitch designs, trim options, leather color combinations and much more.
According to Hartmut Sinkwitz, the head of the interior design for Mercedes-Benz, the leading automaker is trying to come up with a design that can make an emotional connection with the consumers and also incorporate technological innovation.
He said that the aim always is to create an innovative solution that has not been introduced before, and the new E-class interior will go beyond the regular S-class that was first redesigned and introduced in the market in 2013.
The new interior designs are space saving and allow the driver better control over the vehicle functions and less traffic distraction making it the best interactive system around.
