Ford Mustang also known as the American Pony will be launched in Indian markets from 13 July 2016. The Mustang was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier in February. The classic car is available in two iterations across the world- Fastback and Convertible models. However, the company will offer only the fastback model in India and will have a price tag of Rs. 60 lakh in India.
Ford India is gearing up for the great day when it will introduce the iconic Mustang car on July 13. The car is available in different powertrain options across the globe; Ford will be launching the 5.0-litre V8 complemented by a 6-speed automatic transmission via a six-speed dual clutch AT. The V8 engine develops 435bhp of power and 542Nm of torque. The Fastback version which will be introduced in the country will have all the features which are present in the international versions like sports differential, and four driving modes which are Normal, Sport+, Track, and Wet.
The iconic car completed its 50th anniversary in 2014, and it is one of the longest running cars which have been production continuously. The car was always the exclusive domain of the Big Whigs but under the ‘One Ford’ program it was produced in large numbers to expand its reach to the average middle class also. The latest generation of the Mustang bears the fastback of the 1970’s but incorporates the latest technological advancements, and this feature makes the brand immensely popular.
The Indian version will have to undergo certain typical modifications like changing it into right-hand drive due to the traffic keep lest rule in India. It will have all the external features like the shark nose, long hood, shortened rear deck, tastefully designed headlamp, rear diffusers, and Aluminum wheels. In other words, it will have all the perfect design details that represent the exemplary Ford Mustang.
