Flipkart partners with UC Web

UCWeb has established a partnership with e-commerce major Flipkart by integrating the mobile site on UC Browser. With a market share of 55 percent and funding from China-based e-commerce giant, Alibaba, you will be able to navigate Flipkart site directly from the home screen of UC Browser.

Touted to offer a seamless and enhanced shopping experience even under low network connectivity, the new mobile site offers core features such as search, offers, and cart under one single umbrella with more features slated to be integrated into the upcoming releases.

Responding to questions from media, Robert Bu, GM, UCWeb India said that the m-commerce market is booming in India with local e-tailers offering big discounts and mega offers once in every month.

He further revealed that the customers will be able to experience smoother, faster and more interactive flow than other competing mobile sites.

Even though native apps of relevant companies are getting popular, apps like UC Browser, which reported a 75% jump in traffic in 2015, also provide a comfortable and safe platform for an interactive shopping experience.

Recently, UC Browser’s mega online shopping festival saw 17 million hits with the huge demand for lifestyle and household products.

Commenting on the development, Surojit Chatterjee, Senior Vice President, Flipkart disclosed that the tie-up with UC Browser strengthens Flipkart’s mission to create an extremely responsive interface for users, even on the mobile web. The company is hopeful of transforming the e-commerce landscape in the country by reaching out to a vast majority of both urban and rural population via UC Browser.

To interact with Flipkart from within UC Browser, scroll down the home screen and select Flipkart from the top sites section. The platform either provides a facility to search for items or select manually by selecting relevant categories.

Earlier in March 2016, UC Web has signed a deal with Twitter and Microsoft Bing to bring cricket scores to your smartphones via UC Browser.
