Blackberry DTEK60 is almost equivalent to iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel XL. According to a senior BlackBerry executive, the newly released DTEK60 can be compared with these two flagship premium smartphones.
If you look at BlackBerry DTEK60, the handset is cheaper than the iPhone 7 and Pixel XL by $200. The unlocked and off-contract cost of DTEK60 is fixed at $499. The new handset will be a steal deal for gadget geeks who would like to buy a premium flagship smartphone without spending a lot.
BlackBerry DTEK60 specifications
On the specifications front, the BlackBerry DTEK60 features a 5.5-inch QHD display and Snapdragon 820 processor. If you compare the new BlackBerry phone with the other two, you will notice that the display is same as the other two phones. However, the Google Pixel XL ships with a Snapdragon 821 processor and iPhone 7 is equipped with an Apple A10 Fusion processor.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 offers 4GB RAM, which is the same as Google Pixel XL. Meanwhile, the BlackBerry handset is almost on the page with the iPhone 7 Plus model with 32GB internal storage.
BlackBerry DTEK60 enables you to expand storage
The main attraction of the BlackBerry model is the integration of a microSD slot to enable you to expand the storage. However, Google Pixel XL is available with 128GB internal storage.
Talking about the camera, the DTEK60 appears to be far better with a 21MP rear sensor. However, it remains to be seen as to how it performs in the real world. The iPhone 7 Plus and Pixel XL ships with a 12MP camera.
We expect that BlackBerry DTEK60 will sell like hot cakes if sold worldwide. With a price tag of $499, the new DTEK60 is definitely a steal. However, you have to consider other aspects like performance, camera and backup time before making a final decision.
