It also includes clever performance tweaks like allocating each web page tab to a different CPU to mean smooth but fast browsing.”

“We work with operators like Idea and Vodafone, and have successful partnerships with them … while we continue to grow the operator business, we are also bullish on e-commerce route to reach out to consumers,” Alcatel One Touch Regional Director, APAC, Praveen Valecha, said. About 15 per cent of the company’s revenues in India would come from e-commerce this year, he added.

The Alcatel official expects sales from online channel to contribute about 15 per cent of its revenues this year. First introduced at CES 2014, the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ was made available in China in January. With the launch, Alcatel seems set to re-enter the Indian market in an unprecedented way, and launch additional devices like tablets in the near future.
