Steve Kondik, co-founder of Cyanogen has left the company to pursue his own personal ambitions. Announcing the development, Cyanogen’s new CEO Lior Tal disclosed that the entire product team in Seattle will migrate to the smaller office in Palo Alto.
He confirmed the departure of Kondik from the company. Tal mentioned that Cyanogen has separated ties with Steve Kondik. This will enable him to move ahead with his own plans.
The main aim of the latest round of changes is to enhance the performance and internal communication of the team. After the existing team shifts its base to California, the entire development work will be under one umbrella.

Cyanogen relocation move will enhance efficiency
In his blog post, Tal said that the latest consolidation move will help them to develop products with enhanced efficiency. Moreover, it will substantially decrease restrictions in the entire product development lifecycle. He also added that few members of his team are unable to perform their role correctly and relocate as per the plans.
Kondik faced problems to work with the team
There are reports that Kondik had serious reservations to shift the base of the company to Palo Alto. Recently, Kondik openly said that he is having problems to work with another co-founder Kirt McMaster. According to Industry analysts, Kondik departure from the company doesn’t come as a big surprise taking into account the problems faced by the company in the recent past.
Meanwhile, Tal concluded his Cyanogen post by stating that the company is well-funded. It will continue to recruit excellent people to enable them to expand the product line and functionalities of the product team.
Launched with big ambitions, Cyanogen faced not only financial but also business related issues. Moreover, the company did a series of layoffs recently. With the relocation of the company to the Silicon Valley, we can expect improved products from the company in the future.
