Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to reportedly have Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is scheduled to launch on the 2nd of August and there are reports that the device might run on Android N (Nougat), out of the box. So far, the rumour mills have been busy sending out a bunch of rumours in the market.

Taking a note of the leaks till now, Galaxy Note 7 is supposed to come with the iris scanner lock and might support a curvy or an edge screen. These features might just make it to the official device because of the consistency of leaks. That being said, it is still debatable if the phone will have Android N straight out of the box.

Android Major updates generally reach the market within the months of October and November. If the same trend is followed this year, there’s hardly a chance that Galaxy Note 7 will come with Android N. Moreover, it seems a little far-fetched because generally, Google tends to launch its new operating systems alongside the launch of Nexus Flagship.

But with the post on the Android Developers Blog, things have taken a slightly different course. In the post, Google has stated that a ‘consumer release’ will be in place by the end of the Autumn season. It is possible that maybe this year, Google is planning to let go the convention launch tactics it has been following for years.

Even though it is a little doubtful if Google will allow the launch of its latest Android version in Samsung’s device instead of a Nexus, for now, the situation is a little dicey.

Amongst other features of the smartphone, Galaxy Note 7 is believed to come equipped with a 12-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and will support a 5-megapixel front cam. There are rumours which indicate that the device will have an IP68 certification, implying that the device will be dust and water resistant. A USB Type-C port is also on the cards. The smartphone is expected to be priced at Rs. 49,990.
