Xolo unveils new water resistant Q700 Club smartphone for INR 6999

Xolo recently introduced a new water-resistant smartphone called Q700 Club. The phone will go on sale for just Rs. 6999 once it’s available and will sell from online retailers including Flipkart, Snapdeal and others.

The Xolo Q700 sports a 4.5-inch FWVG resolution display. Under the hood, the phone has a MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Its microSD card slot allows storage expansion up to 32 GB.

With 2000 mAh battery inside, Xolo claims that users will be able to get 9 hours of talk time out of the phone. It has dual-SIM support and 3G network capability.

On the back, it packs a 5 MP camera while the front camera is VGA.  It has dual front-speakers with DTS technology that should give you good quality music experience.

But the main selling point of this phone is its water resistance capability. It is IP55 certified so it can withstand water and dust to a certain extent. For a phone that will retail for just Rs. 6999, it’s a nice to feature.

Xolo Q700 Club will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. However, there is no certainty that the phone will be updated to the new version of Android, 5.0. That’s not new for low-end devices in the Android arena.

Last year, Google launched its Android One initiative to bring regular updates to low-cost Android phones. There are a number of phones already available under the Android One banner.

However, the choices are limited, and which is why people may still find other phones more attractive than the ones that are Android One.
