Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 now launches in India starting at Rs 9999 ($146). The smartphone was initially launched in China in two variants. Though the company has announced another upgraded variant of the handset for the Indian market with a Snapdragon 625 processor.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: Specs and Features
Three variants of the smartphone have been launched in India – one with 2GB RAM/32GB in-built storage, the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model, while the top-end variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor bundled with Adreno 506 GPU. According to Xiaomi, the phone’s chipset is based on the 14nm process which offers more power and up to 25% increase in battery life over its predecessor – the Redmi Note 3.
The smartphone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the back and flaunts a metal unibody design.
In terms of cameras, the smartphone packs a 13MP primary camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture,77-degree wide angle lens and a dual-tone flash. For selfies, the smartphone features a 5MP front-facing shooter.
Besides, the Redmi Note 4 comes with dual-SIM(Micro+Nano) capabilities and supports microSD expandability of up to 128GB. As far as OS goes, the smartphone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box with the company’s MIUI 8 skin. An update to Android Nougat is also on the cards.
In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB port, along with a 3.5mm jack. Speaking of battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 gets juiced by a 4100mAh battery, though does not support fast charging.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: Pricing and availability
The smartphone goes in sale in India starting January 23 12 p.m(IST), and will be exclusively available on Flipkart.com along with the company’s official website – Mi.com.
The base model with 2GB/RAM 32GB built in storage starts at Rs. 9999 ( $146), the 3GB RAM/32GB model is priced at Rs. 10,999($161), while the top-of-the-line model is priced at Rs. 12,999 ($191). All three variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be available on Monday January 23, in Gold, Grey, and Silver color options. A Matte Black color option is also expected to come in the near future.
