Google’s big event starts today, October 4, 2016, and rumors suggest that the Search Engine giant will be introducing a whole load of new hardware. It includes Pixel smartphone based on the latest Android OS platform and will write the epitaph of Nexus lineup of devices.
The event will also reveal when consumers can get their hands on Google Home which Google had previewed at the I/O earlier this year.
Google Pixel and Pixel XL
Rumored to be made by HTC , the two devices will be more Google-owned than any of the devices before. Both the devices will be having the same specs except that XL will have a 5.5-inch screen and Pixel will have a 5-inch screen. Specs include a brand new Snapdragon 821 processor complemented with 4 GB RAM and a full 1080p HD screen.
The XL version will have 2,560 x 1,440 or 2K display. Both the devices will have 12-megapixel camera and fingerprint scanners for better security. The device is rumored to have a price tag of $649 but don’t worry financing programs like one for Apple’s iPhone is in the offing.

Google Home is a speaker but with Google Assistant on board and can field queries and also take commands. The price tag of $129 is on par with what Amazon is offering but with a host of benefits since it effortlessly ties to your Google account since it is Blue Tooth enabled. It is Cast ready device and can stream content from your iOS and Android apps right out of the box.
It is a better version of Chromecast and is touted to support 4K video streaming and maybe HDR also and is said to carry a price tag of $69.
The new VR platform, Daydream has been built into the Nougat OS platform for devices which boasts the specs to support it. It will feature hardware headsets and controllers to give a real Virtual Reality experience.
