Tata has announced that it will launch its pickup Xenon Yodha on 3rd January 2017. After the success of its Tiago brand and the forthcoming Hexa, Tata is seeking to start its run for 2017 on an aggressive note. It will be unveiling two new models in 2017, the Xenon subcompact which will be in the SUV category and the Kite5 subcompact sedan. The Xenon Yodha can see a small rise in price, but more details can be expected on January 3 on its launch. The other much-awaited model from Tata is its Hexa which will be launched on January 18.
The Xenon Yodha is a refurbished version of the Xenon XT and will feature new grille and bumpers. It will also feature an infotainment system and will be rubbing shoulders with Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Other addendums include a re-fabricated dashboard, superior seat upholstery made with superior materials than its predecessors.
Under the Hood
The Tata Xenon is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine and produces 145bhp of power and 320Nm torque. The vehicle is expected to have both manual as well as automatic transmission and will also offer the option of all-wheel dimension.
Tata Xenon Yodha Price
The Xenon Yodha will command a premium price over the current XT which carries a price tag of Rs. 9.96 lakh in Delhi. However, it will be still less than the price of its compatriots like Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, a key competitor that costs Rs. 12.80 lakh. Another tough competitor in this segment will be the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway, which is priced at the lower end of the spectrum at Rs. 8.94 lakh
The Tata Xenon is one of the most versatile pickups for Indian conditions. It is a good synergy of sturdiness and comfort and will fit in for people with small and medium ventures. The pickup segment has burgeoned and eclipsed the mini truck segment with a sales figure of 140,000. It is also increasingly being preferred as a personal alternative to the large and rugged SUV segment.
