Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Launched: Check Price and Features

Sony Experia aqua

On July 11, 2015, the Xperia M4 Aqua Dual from Sony was released in India with a price tag of Rs 24,990, making it among the affordable models of water-resistant smartphones in the market.

The model has Sony’s OmniBalance design, with shatterproof plastic for the back. The look feels premium and offers high style.

What makes this model unique is the water-resistant feature, which comes with an IP68 rating.

This means that the phone can work after being in 30-min dip in water although the touchscreen will not work under water, but the hardware can be used to capture an image.

The HD 5-inch screen (720x1280p) display isn’t up to the mark for the price, but then most users will have no complaints whatsoever, as the color resolution is worthy enough.

Sony hasp powered the phone with 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Considering other models are offering better RAM and chipset with a much lesser price tag, this isn’t quite a big bet.

On the front, there’s a 5 MP camera while the rear camera has 13 MP resolution. The phone is loaded with internal storage of 16 GB, with the choice of expanding memory using microSD card.

Xperia M4 Aqua runs on a 2,400 mAh battery and is loaded with Android 5.0 (Lollipop), without any customization. Many of the proprietary apps, like Xperia Lounge, Music, PlayStation, and others are loaded on the phone.

With the Chinese brands keeping the market ahead, Xperia M4 Aqua may have to struggle for its share, although it’s a pretty decent phone.
