Samsung may launch Galaxy Note 8 on August 23

According to a South Korean site, The Bell, consumer electronics giant, Samsung may launch the Galaxy Note 8 on 23 August. However, Samsung hasn’t officially mentioned the date themselves just yet. Many rumors and leaks suggest that the handset will be unveiled by the company in September. But the expected launch of iPhone 8 and weak sales figure of Galaxy S8 handsets may force Samsung to launch, the device a bit early.

The Galaxy S8  did great at launch, but sales of the device are slowing down at the moment. Samsung has reportedly sold 9.8 million Galaxy S8 units in the first two months, which is comparatively lower than the 12 million units of Galaxy S7. Nonetheless, some carriers are running iPhone 7 promos to move more stock before the iPhone 8 arrives and as a result of that Galaxy S8 sales figures are creeping down.

So Whatever the strategy Samsung is pursuing currently regarding the Note 8 launch, it seems to be very aggressive. Last year Note 7 launch was the disaster for the company, and its brand value. But the company bounced back with the Galaxy S8 smartphone which is a remarkable device and helped the company to regain it brand valve again despite the weak sales.

Samsung has already dropped hints at the company’s quarterly results for the first quarter that it will announce a “new flagship smartphone in the second half of 2017”, pointing at the Note 8 indeed. It will be interesting to see how the mass markets worldwide would adopt the Galaxy Note 8, especially after the Note7 recall fiasco.
