Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, and Pebble Core receives amazing response from backers on Kickstarter

Pebble Technology Group announced the launch of its new product lineup on the Kickstarter community, of which two are smartwatches: Pebble 2 ($99) and Pebble Time 2 ($169), and the third is Pebble Core ($69). Since the first ever launch at the same community, Pebble has earned $5 million on Kickstarter. At the time of writing this article, its earning stands over $8,235,893.

Pebble 2 is the company’s most affordable fitness-focussed smartwatch. It is also the first upgrade to the original Pebble smartwatch. As tradition may have it, the watch works on iOS and Android, with a week-long battery. The display is meant to read well both outdoors and indoors. Compatible with 13,000+ existing apps, it sports an anti-scratch lens coating, which is water resistant up to 30m. This one will start shipping from September.

Pebble Time 2 is a higher silver-made version of Pebble 2, and it comes in silver, black and gold. The size of the e-paper display is 50 percent bigger than its predecessor, with 80 percent more pixels to make the visibility almost twice as good. This one will start shipping from November.

Pebble core is at the center of this launch. It is the company’s first ultra-compact, lightweight and most affordable watch by the company. This one is available in white and black, and following are its features:

  •         Stream music from Spotify Premium
  •         Track running pace and distances via built-in GPS and syncs with different fitness apps
  •         Capture voice notes
  •         Send an Emergency SOS notification with your location to trusted friends or family.
  •         Easily connect to keychains or bags for safe keeping or to find lost items.
  •        Quickly activate Pebble apps with just the touch of a button
  •         Use a SIM card for cellular access
  •         Enjoy phone-free exercise for hours (battery lasts up to 9 hours playing music and tracking GPS).
  •         Charge wirelessly with any Qi charger or with the included cable.

This one starts shipping in January, next year.
