Oppo R5 Glided Limited Edition goes on sale at Rs 29990 in India

OPPO Electronics Corp., a Chinese electronics manufacturer has launched the Glided Limited Edition of Oppo R5 on February 20 with a price tag of Rs. 29,990. The device comes with a luxurious gold frame with same built as it was seen in the previous version. Oppo announced that 10,000 units will be available for sale globally. Moreover, the smartphone will be available through pre-bookings at physical stores only, in India.

The company’s CEO Tom Lu said, “This phone has been developed with the end user in mind. We used cutting edge manufacturing techniques to create a phone that fits perfectly into the users’ hands, and that feels incredible. The gold frame has been forged nine times and then finished by hand to give a perfect sheen and feel. It has a quality that is not available anywhere else in the industry. The R5, like the rest of the R series, delivers a truly stylish, exquisite and distinctive design and will continue to delight our customers with its innovative yet practical functions.”

The Oppo R5 Glided Limited Edition sports a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor protected by a “Cool Element” heat exhaust technology. It is featured with a 13 MP camera with a PI 2.0 Plus Flash Shot technology that offers image quality of 50 MP camera. It is also packed up with a 5 MP front facing camera placed above the screen.

It is the 4.85 mm thick phone that makes it the world’s slimmest smartphone. However, due to its slimness the company has not provided a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, in place of it the user have to use headphones with microUSB connector that is provided by the company in the box.

In addition, the device comes with 2 GB of RAM running on ColorOS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and sports 16 GB of internal storage with no expandability options provided. Beside this, the smartphone is featured with a 5.2-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display and powered with a 2000 mAh of battery.
