OnePlus announced that it would be opening six ‘Exclusive Service Centers’ (ESC’s) across the country. The first such center has already been opened in Bangalore and the others are set up to open in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.
These ESC’s will have a turn-around time of 1-hour for resolutions to customer issues. According to OnePlus India’s General Manager, the opening of new service centers will deepen the company’s promise of providing exceptional smartphone experiences along with world-class support.
The new OnePlus service centers will double up as omnichannel retail centers, where customers will be able to come and experience OnePlus’s products before they purchase the same. The centers are expected to offer pick-up and drop services for devices from locations that fall within the same city as the service center.
The announcement of OnePlus’s service centers comes just before their launch of the OnePlus 3. Their newest phone is expected to be released sometime around the second week of June. The phone is also expected to come along with compatibility for their very own Loop VR headset.
The company will be selling their Loop VR headsets on Amazon for a price of Rs. 1 from June 4 to June 7, stocks for which are limited. The exercise is in the hope that fans will watch the OnePlus 3 announcement live from their home in a VR telecast.
The OnePlus 3 is expected to feature a 5.5” full-HD display screen, run on a Snapdragon 820 processor and will be made available in two variants, 32GB of internal storage with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with 6GB of RAM. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is expected to be made available to buyers through ‘a better buying process’ according to Carl Pei. No other concrete information about the phone’s specifications is available at the moment.
