Motorola Moto X Force vs Samsung Galaxy S7: Price, features and specs compared

Moto X Force vs Galaxy S7

We’ve been comparing the latest phones released over the last six months and thought it prudent to compare Moto’s X Force as well as the latest Samsung Galaxy S7. Both phones have more than 5-inch screen size and come with specifications according to their prices. Let’s compare both the phones and check which one is worth buying:

Display, Processor, Price:

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is newer of the two and was made available a while back. The phone comes with a host of improvements from imaging, data access speeds to battery life. The Galaxy S7 comes along with a 5.1” Super AMOLED screen, with an Always On feature that lets you keep track of your notifications instantly. One variant of the phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with two dual-core Kyro processors that clock at speeds of 2.15GHz and 1.6GHz respectively.

Moto X Force

This variant houses an Adreno 530 GPU kit to support graphics smoothly. The other variant runs on an Exynos 8890 chipset that has two quad-core processors, one Mongoose that clocks at a speed of 2.3GHz and the other Cortex-A53 that clocks at a speed of 1.6GHz. This variant of the phone houses a Mali-TP880 MP 12 GPU kit. The Galaxy S7 comes with 32GB ($645) and 64GB ($949) of internal storage to pick from and houses a 4GB RAM.

The Moto X Force was made available in November 2015 and sports a 5.4” AMOLED display screen. The screen is protected by Shatterproof glass, whereas the Galaxy S7 uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Moto device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that has two quad-core processors, Cortex-A53 (1.6GHz) and Cortex-A57 (2.0GHz). Graphics on the phone are supported by an Adreno 430 GPU kit and a 3GB RAM. You can choose between 32GB ($800) and 64GB ($900) of internal storage space which can be expanded up to 200GB with a micro-SD card.

Camera and Battery:

Great improvements have been made to the S7’s camera, which brings great attention to detail in images shot in good light as well as discernable hues and shades. The camera has also been lauded for its impressive performance in low-light conditions. The rear of the phone houses a 12MP camera lens with auto-focus, face detection, dual-LED flash as well as OIS. The front of the phone comes equipped with a 5MP lens for self-shots and video calls. With a 3,000mAh battery, you will be sure to have a reasonable usage cycle of above 21 houses of talk time when connected to 3G networks. The Galaxy S7 is available in the colors of Gold, Silver, Pink Gold, White and Black. All units come preloaded with Android Marshmallow onto them with TouchWiz UI running on it.

The phone supports wireless charging and comes along with a powerful 3,760mAh battery that provides a talk time of 25 hours on 3G networks with a standby time of 500 hours.

The Verdict:

Both phones come neck to neck although the Moto X Force has older hardware. When it comes to battery life as well as a higher resolution camera, the Moto X takes the cake. But If you care about great color quality as well as improved internet speeds, Samsung has built to appease.
