Motorola has launched the Moto Z2 Play; the successor to the last year’s Moto Z Play. Just like its predecessor, the Moto Z2 Play also has support for the Moto Mod’s connectors that includes the JBL SoundBoost 2 mod, TurboPower mod that has 15W fast charging built-in and the all new Gamepad Mod that was introduced initially at the MWC 2017 event. The device is already available in Brazil and the company has officially announced in a tweet that the Moto Z2 Play will be launched in India on June 8th.
The Motorola Moto Z2 Play high-end model with 4GB RAM comes in Lunar Gray, Nimbus Blue, and Fine Gold colors and starts at $499 (Rs. 32130 approx.). As for the Moto Mods, buyers would have to purchase them separately. The Moto TurboPower Pack Mod Autofocus at US$79.99 (Rs. 5150 approx.), the Moto Style Shell in various colors with Wireless Charging costs US$39.99 (Rs. 2575 approx.). The JBL SoundBoost 2 costs US$79.99 (Rs. 5150 approx.), and the Moto GamePad is priced at US$79.99 (Rs. 5150 approx.). We will have to wait for more some time to know the official pricing of the Moto Z2 for India. The Pre-order will begin on June 8th in India.
Motorola Moto Z2 Play Specifications: The device sports a 5.5-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 506 GPU coupled with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 64GB storage and a low-end variant with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 2TB.
The Motorola Moto Z2 Play runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. In the camera department, there is a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Dual-Pixel Autofocus, Laser Auto focus, f/1.7 aperture and can record 4K videos. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter with dual-tone LED flash. The device features Water repellent nano-coating and a Fingerprint sensor for extra security. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C. A 3000mAh battery with Turbocharging support is on board for all the battery requirements.
