Intel to help boost the use of Technology in Indian Education

Intel has announced that it would be working towards increasing the use of technology in the educational sector. In keeping with the Government’s vision for Digital India, Intel will tie up with major device manufacturers, education solutions providers as well as top digital content publishers to devise end-to-end educational solutions that rely on technology.

According to Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group and Managing Director Intel South Asia – ‘Education is one of the most powerful tools for unlocking economic opportunities, and Intel will play a critical role in enabling anytime, anywhere learning’. ‘

Intel has spent around $1Billion over the last year in educational efforts for countries around the World and the new initiative is a similar one which will make digital repositories available for affordable learning solutions.

The new initiative will enable Intel to tie up with educational solutions providers like Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Acer, Micromax, Lenovo, Datamini and iBall to create inexpensive availability of devices as well as educational solutions with Intel’s Pentium Processor A1020.

Intel’s backend infrastructure will further allow these devices and programs to connect with each other increasing the solution’s seamlessness and mobility.

Dr. Jatinder Singh, Sr. Secretary, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes that the new approach can empower both teachers as well as learners; and will change the educational system from being teacher-centric to student centric.

Solution providers will also help deploy student information systems and management systems for learning and development including apps for mobile device management (MDM), virtual collaborative tools and those or better communication.

Intel looks towards building a technologically savvy educational environment in India; and like it is known for having started the National Digital Literacy Mission in the country with NASSCOM, it has now tied-up with the Government to drive change at the very base of the way education is imparted.
