Hyundai India has launched a new automatic variant of the Elite i20 hatchback priced at Rs 9.01 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The automatic variant of the Hyundai Elite i20 will only be available in the Magna variant.

Under the hood, the Elite i20 Automatic packs a 1.4-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine that churns out 100 PS at 6000 rpm and 132.5Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission as optional, while there’s also a 5-speed manual transmission that comes as standard.

The automatic variant of the premium hatchback comes with features such as dual airbags, a 2 din music system with Aux-in, Bluetooth, and 1GB of built-in storage.  Besides, it also gets steering mounted controls and rear AC vents.

However, it misses out on a few key features possibly to keep prices in check. For instance, there’s no 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather clad steering wheel, alloy wheels, rear park assist, ABS, push-button start, and automatic climate control. The Elite i20 automatic will now go against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz, and the Ford Figo

Hyundai Elite i20 Automatic Price and Availability

Apart from the new automatic variant, the top-end Elite i20 Asta now comes equipped with six airbags and gets a price tag of Rs. 7,75,828 for the petrol variant while its diesel variant has been priced at Rs. 8,99,992.

Recently, the company also launched its new generation Hyundai Elantra sedan in India priced at Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The sedan is available in both petrol and diesel engine options spread across five variants which include S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), SX(O) AT.  Powering the new Elantra sedan is a 2.0-litre MPI petrol engine that churns out 152 PS of power and 190Nm of torque. On the hand, the diesel variant gets a 1.6-litre CRDi engine that churns out 128PS and 265 Nm of torque.

Besides, the Korean automaker recently unveiled the facelift version of its popular i10 hatch for the European market. Hence, we can expect the facelifted Grand i10 to arrive in India anytime soon, possibly during the upcoming festive season.
