Huawei plans partnership with 50000 retail outlets in India by year end

Huawei announced that it will start smartphone manufacturing under Make in India initiative in partnership with leading Sketch-to-Scale solutions provider Flex in October 2016. The first batch of Honor smartphone models will be rolled out from the Flex manufacturing facility in Chennai from the first week of October 2016.

Inaugurating the Make in India ceremony of Huawei in New Delhi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister, Information & Technology, Law and Justice said that the government of India is pleased to see so much enthusiasm for our Make in India initiative.

Huawei Chennai plant will have three million units capacity

To begin with, the Huawei plant will have the capacity to manufacture three million units by December 2017. Moreover, Huawei will strengthen its after sales services in India with over 200 service centers. This includes the establishment of more than 30 including more than 30 exclusive Huawei outlets and service centers in India.

Huawei to partner with 50,000 retail outlets

Furthermore, Huawei will also expand its distribution network by partnering with more than 50,000 retail outlets by the end of 2016. This is in addition to the existing 350+ distributors in India to create a comprehensive and nationwide distribution system.

Meanwhile, Jay Chen, CEO, Huawei revealed that the company is celebrating its 16 years in India and hence we have been consistently expanding our footprint in the market. He said that start of manufacturing in India is an affirmation of our commitment to India and supports the Make in India campaign. The company is convinced about the growth potential of India.

We have seen significant acceptance of our smartphones in India over the last few years and have big plans for India, added Peter Zhai, President, Huawei India.

Huawei has established strong consumer confidence in India by launching a wide range of products. In 2016, the company launched flagship P9 smartphone. Moreover, Google has collaborated with Huawei to make its premium Nexus 6P device.
