Hike Messenger has appointed Rajesh Rudraradhya as the Vice President and Head of Engineering. Before joining Hike, India’s first ever mobile messenger app, Rudraradhya Motorola as Director and Head of Wearables and Internet-of-Things. However, he worked with Digital Equipment Corporation, HP and Google in his career spanning over 15 years.
Primarily responsible for streamlining product development, Rudraradhya will report directly to Kavin Bharti Mittal, who is the founder and CEO of the company.
Announcing the addition of Rudraradhya, Mittal revealed that Rajesh has tremendous depth of experience in mobile having led large engineering teams to build some of the world’s most innovative products. Moreover, Mittla believes Rajesh’s passion for solving consumer problems will enable Hike to realise its mission and build into a product loved by hundreds of millions of people.
Commenting on his decision to join Hike as the step in right direction, Rudraradhya disclosed that Hike is on the verge to attain excellent position to transform the messaging space in India. He stated that his new job is an opportunity to serve people in India, and his focus will be to establish connectivity for those individuals who use the Internet for the first time in their lives on a mobile device.
Based out of Hike office in New Delhi, Rudraradhya further stated that he is excited to be associated with one of the most impressive teams and hope to nurture and build a great relationship with not only employees but also customers and investors.
Previously, Rudraradhya was involved in the design and development of seven different mobile platforms and also was responsible for the launch of Moto 360 smartwatch, which turned out to be the most successful Android Wear device. He was instrumental in the software development process for Moto X and Moto G smartphone series during his tenure as the head of Android Apps and Cloud Engineering.
While Rudraradhya played a pivotal role in the launch of many devices such as Motorola StarTAC, RAZR, DROID, MING and Moto G, he is also an advisor to emerging startups in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) arena.
During the last six months, Hike Messenger has made several notable leadership changes which include the appointment of Vidur Vyas as Marketing VP, Hemant Goyal as Finance VP, Gautam Vohra as General Counsel, Sumit Mehra as Studio Head and Vikrant Bhatnagar as Head of HR.
