Here’s everything we know about LeEco’s launch event tomorrow

Within few days of launching the content focused Le 1S Eco, LeEco is gearing up for another launch event on June 8 in India. As per the teaser images on the official social media pages, LeEco has displayed “II” followed by the event name, which is captioned as “2Future” and date.

At the launch event, the company is expected to launch its upcoming flagships LeEco Le 2, LeEco Le 2 Pro, and LeEco Le Max 2 in India. Moreover, the company is also planning to launch its official online shopping portal and accessories. There is also a possibility that the company will rename the device as Le 2 Eco.

While LeEco Le 2 is slated to be launched on June 8, there are widespread rumors that the company will likely ditch its longtime partner Flipkart and switch to Amazon.

Even though the price of LeEco Le 2 will be fixed at Rs. 12,999, LeEco will throw away the product for Rs. 11,999 for the first few flash sales. As per the previous experience, the price at which LeEco Le 2 will be sold will not change even after the device goes on an open sale.

When Le 1s Eco was launched, company sources revealed that the device will cost Rs. 15,999 but they sold the device at Rs. 9,999 with free back cover. However, even after the end of two flash sales, the price is still the same with more offers like free earphones, which the customers didn’t get when purchased via the flash sale.

LeEco Le 2: Specifications

On the specifications front, the LeEco Le 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, an Helio X20 SoC processor running at 2.3GHz, 3GB RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. Moreover, the device also provides support for 4G LTE with VoLTE support and Wi-Fi 802.11ac loaded with Android Marshmallow on top of EUI 5.5.

While the rear camera will be equipped with a 16-megapixel camera sensor, which is higher than the Le 1s and Le 1s Eco, the front-facing snapper is triggered with an 8-megapixel sensor. It seems that the company is addressing the bad image quality produced by Le 1s by integrating a higher sensor camera in its successor.

Powered by a 3000mAh battery, the LeEco Le 2 is expected to provide support for fast charging technology via USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

LeEco Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2: Specifications

During the launch event on June 8, LeEco is also expected to launch LeEco Le 2 Pro and LeEco Le Max 2, which are regarded as premium smartphones.

The Le 2 Pro (Rs. 15,400) will offer a 21-megapixel rear camera, Helio X25 processor and 4GB RAM with other specs remaining the same as Le 2. On the other hand, Le Max 2 will be bundled with a 5.7-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor paired with Adreno 530 graphics, 6GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage and 3100mAh battery, which is higher than Le 2 and Pro variants.

Talking about camera specs, the Le Max 2, expected to retail at Rs. 21500, will be equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. A 3100mAh battery completes the package.

All the above smartphone will feature (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology for uncompressed audio output with USB Type-C in-ear earphones.

Le 3D VR headset

In addition to premium smartphones, LeEco could also launch the Le 3D VR headset with support for 2K resolution and up to 70-degree field view.

In all likelihood, LeEco will bundle the free one-year content delivery package with Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le 2 Max, which consists of live videos and music with over 1,00,000 TV episodes and over 5,000 films.

Meanwhile, LeEco has also partnered with Eros Now and YuppTV in India. The company also announced the plan to invest $10 million in establishing a dedicated cloud and content delivery networks (CDNs) across the country.

According to reports, LeEco is planning to start the manufacturing operations under ‘Make in India’ initiative.

If LeEco migrates to Amazon, then it will be a big loss for the homegrown Flipkart that is struggling to earn revenues. Recently, Flipkart reduced the return window time from 30 days to 10 days and increased seller fees.
