As Google promised to add Daydream support for more smartphones this year. It already started and Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus already got the Daydream support via OTA update. Google is working very hard to provide the Daydream VR support to more flagship smartphones this year to fulfill that promise.
T-Mobile claimed last month that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ already got the Google Daydream support but it wasn’t enabled in the smartphone then. But now Google Daydream virtual reality department announced that the Daydream support is rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. The official post said, “The Daydream-ready update is rolling out now to Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Explore new worlds with #Daydream.”
Android Police hints that this feature might be already there on Galaxy S8 and S8+, and Google just enabled that switch in the form of the over-the-air update. This claim could be right because one user on Reddit previously claimed that clearing the data of Google’s VR Service app enables the Daydream VR support.
After T-Mobile rolled out the update, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ was not able to run the Daydream app properly and crashed prompting “incompatible phone.” The Daydream app can be downloaded free from Google PlayStore for free and as Google already added support on Galaxy S8 and S8+, you can also join the VR fun.
