The compact version of the Sedan from MSI has been very popular with Indian consumers, and it is the only Sedan to cross the 1 million sales mark.
Thus, Dzire becomes the only Diesel car and the fourth car in the company’s inventory to boast the AGS technology.
Maruti Suzuki India, ‘Executive Director Marketing & Sales’, R S Kalsi said that AGS is a two pedal technology which gives optimum driver comfort and does away with the bother of using clutch pedal repeatedly to shift gears. This convenience is available at a very attractive price, and there is also no slump in fuel efficiency.
Dzire is equipped with the same AMT unit supplied by Magneti Marelli. The same unit also is featured in Celerio and Wagon-R. The AGS unit from Marelli also features the Intelligent Shift Control Actuator, which includes a controller for regulating clutch and shift operations. It synchronizes clutch control and also makes gear shifts smooth and effortless. It also optimizes ECU calibrations and also reduces gear shifting time in comparison to traditional automatic gearboxes.
Dzire AGS will continue to feature the same 1.3-liter DDiS engine that produces 75PS and 190 NM peak torque. The fuel efficiency of the car will remain the same as its manual counterpart i.e. of 26.59 Kmpl.
