Asus to manufacture ZenFones at Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh

Asus will soon start building up its ZenFone lineup at Foxconn facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Initially, Asus will manufacture ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Go.

Recently, a couple of months ago, Asus introduced ZenFone 2 Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone 2 Deluxe in India.

“We aim to achieve 5% market share in the country by next year and empower all our customers with luxury,” says Peter Change, Regional Head at Asus India.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) IPS display, which is laminated by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm 64-bit Octa-Core Processor Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) CPU coupled with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and a Qualcomm Adreno 306 GP, the Zenfone 2 Laser offers 16GB of inbuilt storage, expanded up to 128GB.

The handset is fueled by a 3,000 mAh Li-Polymer removable battery and runs on brand-new Asus ZenUI 2.0 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Connectivity-wise, the dual-SIM Zenfone 2 Laser comes with 4G LTE (Cat4) support, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS/GLONASS, Micro USB 2.0 (OTG support), and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Asus ZenFone Go (ZC500TG) sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with an anti-fingerprint coating on the top.

Powered by a MediaTek MT6580 Quad-Core 1.3GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, the ZenFone Go is available in two storage variants i.e. 8GB and 16GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB.

On the camera front, the handset sports an 8MP AF rear camera with Back Light Mode and a 2MP FF front-facing camera.

The smartphone runs on company’s own ZenUI based on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The dual-SIM Asus ZenFone Go is fueled by a 2,070 mAh Li-Polymer battery. And, in terms of connectivity, the handset comes with 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack port.

Asus has targeted to manufacturer around 1.5 lakh smartphone units by the end of this year.
