Asus has just announce its new all-in-one PC ET2040INK. The new Windows 8.1 PC is now on sale at Amazon online store as well as on retail outlets of Asus, in India.
The new all-in-one PC from Asus features a 19.5-inch HD display without a touchscreen support. It runs on Windows 8.1 with Bing and has an Intel J2900 Pentium processor under the hood which is clocked at 2.41 GHz burst speed. It includes 2GB of RAM and comes with integrated Intel HD graphics adapter.
The new Asus computer also packs 5400 RPM 500 GB hard disk drive. On the front side, it has a 1 megapixel webcam for video chatting. It’s also smart enough to recognize gestures. Packing a number of ports including 3 USB 3.0, 3 USB 2.0, HDMI output, Audio Jet, RJ-45 Ethernet, memory card reader and WiFi, the Asus ET2040INK weighs just about 3.5 KGs.
Asus is bundling a mouse and keyboard with this all-in-one PC, so that customers do get everything into one purchase. The device has some impressive software up its sleeves including the aforementioned gesture recognition technology called Hand-Gesture Recognition Software (HGRS). With this turned on, users can control the computer and multimedia players from a distance of up to five meters.
Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia & Country Manager, System Business Group, Asus India, said during the launch of the new device, “The ET2040 promises the proven reliability of Asus desktop PCs for a truly remarkable computing experience that guarantees peace of mind. Its space saving design is complemented by its clever built in backup power.”
While the device may be a good choice for those looking for a mid-range computer with portability, the lack of touch support and full HD resolution on the display maybe a deal-breaker for some customers.
