Apple to reportedly make old MacBooks obsolete from December 31: Check the list

Apple is expected to add few 2009 and 2011 MacBook models to vintage and obsolete list on December 31, 2016. The obsolete list will have the Mac Mini released in 2009, Mac mini Server (2010), Mac Pro (early 2009), Xserve (2009), Xserve G5 (2009) and the 13-inch MacBook models. However, the vintage category list will have 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros manufactured in early 2011.

If you have any of the MacBook models listed on the vintage and obsolete list, you will not get any support. If you are in California or Turkey, you will be eligible to get limited support for vintage models.

If you own vintage iPod or iPhone products and reside in California, you will be eligible to avail service from Apple retail stores or by establishing contact with AppleCare at 1-800-APL-CARE. Here is a list of Mac products that are classified as Vintage in the United States and Turkey, and obsolete in other parts of the world.
