Apple has established a partnership with LG to manufacture upcoming 4K and 5K ultraFine displays. According to sources, the proposed partnership is for the manufacturing of new 4K and 5K displays. There are reports that the new monitors will be designed and developed based on the specifications of the new MacBook Pro.
The LG UltraFine 5K Display will be equipped with a 27-inch panel with support for 5120 x 2880 pixels. Moreover, the monitor will be equipped with the P3 wide color gamut.
The monitor will also make optimum use of Thunderbolt 3, which will have an ability to supply power to multiple sources. You can easily power the monitor and a MacBook Pro via a single cable.
Moreover, the monitor will also be equipped with three USB-C ports on the rear to enable you to connect other accessories. You will also find stereo speakers, a microphone, and an integrated camera.
Meanwhile, the 4K monitor will have a 21.5-inch panel with a resolution of 4096 x 2304. However, it retains P3 color. You will be able to connect the monitor to a Mac using a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 cable.
Furthermore, the 4K monitor will most likely supply 60 watts of charging power when compared to 85 watts in the 5K variant. You will find three USB-C ports to connect accessories. In contrast with 5K, the 4K display will only accommodate stereo speakers.
Even though you can place an order for the Ultrafine 4K Display at $699.95, the monitor will ship only after 5 to 6 weeks. In the case of the 5K display, it will be available in December for $1299.95.
