It’s been ten days since the search giant Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) unveiled the next iteration of its open-source mobile ecosystem in the form of Android M at company’s annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco. Since then, a lot of gossiping has taken place in the air that’s building up the excitement about Android M.
However, what’s coming up with it is no surprise, as Google has already demonstrated the best in class features it contains. The exciting part to be noticed is how well the Android M is going to perform in its final build, which company has promised to release in Q3 2015.
Apparently, the Android M update is not at all about giving visual overhaul like Android Lollipop. Google has already awarded the developers community with the developer preview of Android M, which not only let developers have some good time with it, but also find some good ways to improve.
As indicated by a report from Computer Base, a Nexus 5 running on Android M performed better than its partner running on Android Lollipop. Both the devices were analyzed regarding standby time. The Nexus 5 with Lollipop lost 4 percent of battery following 8 hours of standby. The device running Android M lost just 1.5 percent in the same period.
Following 24 hours of standby, the device running Android Lollipop lost 12 percent of the battery. The device running Android M simply lost 4.5 percent of charge.
Following two days of standby, the Lollipop variant lost 24 percent of the battery. Meanwhile, the device running Android M simply lost 9 percent of charge.
