Apple iPad Mini 5 expected to be released in September will be thinner than the previous counterpart, which is iPad Mini 4. In addition to the upcoming iPhone 7, the Cupertino-based company is expected to unveil iPad Mini 5 during the launch event in September.
In 2015, Apple stunned the fans by releasing iPad Mini 4 along with iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Previously, the company used to unveil the iPad separately in October. We expect that Apple will most likely follow the same route as last year.
Design Changes
The upcoming iPad Mini 5 is expected to feature minor design changes. According to a leading tech portal, the device will be thinner than iPad Mini 4 and as such will weigh comparatively less.

If you look a the existing iPad Mini, the device is only 6.1mm thick, Hence, if Apple manages to build a device which is even thinner than the current iPad, it will be an impressive achievement for the tech company which is struggling to earn profits from its devices.
According to rumors, the iPad Mini 5 is expected to beat a thickness of only 5 mm and could be manufactured using 7000-series aluminum similar to that of the existing iPhones.

3D Touch
It is expected that the iPad Mini 5 will feature the same 3D Touch technology like the iPhones. This will enable users to perform various actions depending on the pressure applied to the display.
Specifications
Expected to be tougher with the likely integration of water and dust-resistant capabilities, the iPad Mini 5 will feature Apple A10 processor with LTE modem manufactured by Intel, up to 256GB of internal storage. When it comes to imaging department, the new device is rumored to feature an 8-megapixel rear camera paired with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing snapper.

Pricing
While the 16GB Wi-Fi model of iPad Mini 5 is expected to cost $420, the 16GB variant with both Wi-Fi and 4G will be available at $550. You can expect the same variant for both 64GB and 128GB storage variants with the 64GB starting at $520 and 128GB from $640. The 4G LTE models will cost higher for both variants. If Apple decides to release a 256GB iPad Mini 5, you will need to pay around $950.
