Intel announces three new initiatives to support ‘Digital India’ campaign

In a bid to support Digital India, Intel has announced a series of initiatives that will enhance the support for the program. The report came out on Thursday which informs about three different projects carried on by Intel India to exalt the scope of Digital literacy at the grassroots level. The project also aims to upskill citizens in tier- 2 cities and beyond, and encourage innovation at the local level.

To enable rural entrepreneurs in learning how to assemble a personal computer, the company has specifically designed a website viz. Digital Unnati. This website is being set-up in collaboration with the CSC e-Governance services India Ltd. Through these projects and initiatives, Intel India is trying its best to support local innovation and entrepreneurship.

Innovate for Digital India Challenge

Intel has arranged for this challenge to motivate people for coming forward with their solutions towards real-life problems experienced by the locals.

Robby Swinnen, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing group, and General Manager, Intel Corporation, Asia-Pacific and Japan, said, “Intel India’s focus on accelerating Digital India is not only contributing to empowering people with crucial Digital Knowledge but is also aligned to our vision of connecting everyone with technology as we progress towards a smart and connected world”.

Intel also stated that so far it has already upskilled more than 80 lakh citizens with the help of programs such as National Digital Literacy Mission and Disha Digital Literacy Programme. Unequivocally, these programs have rendered a two-sided benefit by improving the overall digital India scenario and assisting in Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna, which places a keen focus on skill development.
