Nintendo has discontinued production of the NES Classic, but the Kyoto-based company has announced another retro-themed console. The original Classic Mini NES console was launched way back in the 90s. Now, Nintendo has launched a remastered version of the 16-bit Super Nintendo Entertainment System called SNES Classic, which comes pre-loaded with 21 games. Apart from the console itself, the NES Classic comes with one HDMI cable, one USB charging cable, an AC adapter, along with two wired SNES Classic Controllers

SNES Classic Release Date and Price
Nintendo has stated that the SNES Classic will be available for purchase for the calendar year ending 2017, implying it’ll be available for purchase this year only.
“We aren’t providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition. Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is currently planned to ship from Sept. 29 until the end of the calendar year 2017. At this time, we have nothing to announce regarding any possible shipments beyond this year” said Nintendo in a statement to Kotaku.
The SNES Classic official release date in the US is September 29, 2017. At launch, the console will retail for $80. If you’re interested in pre-ordering the console, Amazon does show a listing of the console but it appears eager gamers couldn’t hold on onto their horses as it’s listed as currently unavailable at the time of writing. Though readers are advised to keep an eye on BestBuy and Amazon early in September, before the console’s release date.
