Design
When it comes to design, the speaker is surely an eye turner. It’s got a very rich feel to it, thanks to the choice of the materials used. The frame is made from high-quality wood with the faux leather material covering it. On the front, you get a large grill with a pattern on it and the Zakk logo. There is the sub-woofer opening on the back while the main controls are mounted on the top of the speaker.
The brand has gone with a uber-rich feel for the product and it reflects even in the nobs that have been used. For instance, you get a retro-style flick switch for turning the speaker On/Off along with the playback control buttons and a rotatory dial for managing the volume. Along with the controls you get an AUX port and the 5V DC-in port to charge the speaker itself.
Overall the speaker is kind of heavy and is not a portable option but instead needs a special corner for itself in a room. There are rubber feet’s on the bottom that provide a little lift and grip to the speaker unit.
Setup & Sound Quality
Setting up the Bluetooth speaker is quite easy and straightforward, simply turn on the speaker, and it’ll enter into pairing mode. Now pull up Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap to proceed with the pairing. As expected, the speaker will connect automatically the next time you turn on Bluetooth.
Rated at 12W each, the Zakk Woodstock gets dual speaker units with a totalling output of 24W which we feel is enough for easily filling up a mid-sized room. The back is equipped with a bass vent, for the built-in sub-woofer unit.
Coming to the audio quality, the speaker gets adequately loud and is ideal for listening to vocals since the units are more tuned for mid-tones. The highs are decent, but the lows do take a hit and that is very evidently visible at high sounds. The built-in sub-woofer does help a bit but in the end its that powerful.
As for the battery, the speaker lasted for about 8 hours on playback with volume levels varied between 50-80%. With the supplied charger unit, the speaker took close to 4 hours to get the 2,200mAh built-in battery topped up.

Verdict – Should you go for it?
Zakk Woodstock is perhaps one of the best-looking speakers in its price bracket with a hefty build to it. Though we liked the overall product, it did disappoint us with the lower tones and the non-existent bass. The speaker is definitely aimed at people you need chic items for their living spaces and won’t compromise on something less.
