ZAAP, a US-based manufacturer of audio devices such as Bluetooth earphones and speakers, is a relatively new entrant in the Indian market. The company recently introduced its first Bluetooth earphones called Aqua Xtreme in the country. Priced at INR 2599, key highlights of these earbuds include water resistance rating of IPX7, which gives the ability to stay in under 1m of water for up to 30 minutes. Besides, the company also claims they come with a Nano X coating, which further gives them protection from sweat and water.

Elsewhere, they come with Bluetooth 4.1 and features Qualcomm’s CSR chipset and aptX technology for high-end audio. As for the battery, the Aqua Xtreme packs a 90mAh battery which the company claims offers up to 9 hours on a single charge. Zaap Aqua Xtreme is targeted at fitness and outdoor enthusiasts to tackle sweat and water. I’ve been using them for over a week now, and here are my thoughts about Zaap’s Aqua Xtreme Bluetooth earphones.

Design and Comfort

They feature an ergonomic, behind-the-ear design which gives a comfortable fit, ensuring they stay put when you’re working out at the gym or running around the track. I ran almost daily with these earbuds, and they stay on my ears without issue. Besides, even sweat doesn’t seem to affect them in any way. They’re also very comfortable to wear for long periods at a stretch.

Even the buttons are easily accessible. All controls are neatly placed on the right earbud, which allows changing tracks, navigating playlists, and taking calls.

Performance

Image02 10As far as performance goes when it comes to day to day usage, these work very well. They were easy to pair, disconnect, and re-pair with my iPhone 7. They disconnect and re-pair immediately upon turning them off and on. Even the battery life is decent. I got nearly 8 hours out of them before having to re-charge.

Sound quality is decent with good bass and clarity, but nothing special. They’re suitable for working out, but I wouldn’t use them as my main set of headphones. That said, the overall sound quality is quite good for the price. Even the call quality seems decent, and callers said they could hear me clearly whether indoors or outdoors.

No to mention, the package comes with a carrying case, charging cord, and a couple of different sized earpieces if you need to adjust

Wrap Up

Priced at INR 2599, Zaap’s pair of Aqua Xtreme Bluetooth earphone turns out to be a good buy for fitness and outdoor enthusiasts. They fit snugly around your ears and are comfortable to wear for long periods at a stretch. Besides, they’re easy to pair, sound good, last long and even look trendy and stylish.
