YotaPhone 3 with dual displays Announced starting at $350

The Russian smartphone maker Yota Corporation has launched the next gen YotaPhone smartphone; the YotaPhone 3. The phone is the successor of YotaPhone 2 smartphone which was released way back in February 2014. The main USP of the phone is a Dual display i:e 5.2 inches HD E-Ink display on the back. The phone will arrive in China on September 5 and will be available for pre-order at country’s leading online retailer JD.com at the same date.

YotaPhone 3 comes with a 5.5 inches super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, while on the back there is 5.2 inches 720p E ink touchscreen which is also protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The phone is powered by 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset which is coupled with Adreno 506 and 4GB RAM. Moreover, the YotaPhone 3 comes in two ROM variants i:e 64GB/128GB which is non-expandable. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with Yota OS 3.0 on top.

On the camera front, the phone comes with a 13MP rear optics which comes with autofocus, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. Whereas, on the front, the phone adheres a 12 MP sensor. A 3300mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery powers the phone and there is a fingerprint sensor which is embedded in the home button. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, GPS,hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type-C.

YotaPhone 3 64GB variants is priced at RMB 2,398 (INR 23,054), whereas the 128GB variants will be cost around RMB 3,098 (INR 29,784). However, there is no information regarding the availability in India so far. Nonetheless, the phone comes with a significant improvement over its predecessor YotaPhone 2. Recently, the renowned Chinese smartphone, Meizu has launched the Meizu Pro 7 series smartphones in China which is also praised for its dual display capabilities.
