Xiaomi releases Mi Pad 3 in China, may come to India also

Xiaomi has launched its new tablet, the Mi Pad 3. The company’s website shows the listing at roughly INR 14,100. It has been made available in the color ‘champagne gold’.

The 7.9-inch Retina display Mi Pad 3 tablet sports an all metal casing. It has a hexa-core MT8176 processor. The pad sports a 4GB RAM and a 64GB non-expandable internal memory. The rear camera is 13MP and the front camera is 5MP.

As far as the battery is concerned, the 6600 mAh battery has a standby time of 867 hours. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.1, and GPS. The tablet’s size is same as its predecessor- 200.4×132.6×6.95mm. However, it weighs slightly more at 322 grams.

For unknown reasons, the company has kept the launch pretty quiet. Often compared to Apple because of its looks and easy-to-use user interface, the company may have followed the California giant with its launch.

The date for worldwide availability hasn’t been released, yet. The Mi Pad 2 never made it to the Indian market, so there is no guarantee that this one will.

As is the case with all of Mi’s devices, the Mi Pad 3 is said to offer a great price-performance ratio. It has been made available starting today, April 6, in China at a price of CNY 1,499. It has been put up on Xiaomi’s website, JD.com, and Suning.

Mi’s devices have done pretty well in the Indian market. The company’s record of providing high-end specs at competitive prices has helped it generate a good amount of buzz. Therefore, it will be no surprise if the company decides to bring the Mi Pad 3 to India soon.
