Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4A price starting Rs 5000 might launch in India early next year

Xiaomi has launched Redmi 4 Prime (Pro edition), Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A starting at 699 Yuan. According to sources, the new handsets are touted to be the successor to the popular Redmi 3 smartphone. After the success of Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3 and Redmi 3S Prime, the company has launched phones in the affordable mid-range segment. This is being done to tap new customers from emerging countries.

Equipped with the 4G VoLTE capability, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 4 Pro Edition also called as Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4 standard edition, and the Redmi 4A.

Xiaomi Redmi 4

Redmi 4 standard edition offers a 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, Adreno 505 graphics, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage. You can expand the storage to up to 128GB. The processor runs at a clock speed of 1.4Ghz. The rest of the specifications are same as Redmi 4 Pro.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro also called as Redmi 4 Prime features a 5-inch FHD 2.5D curved glass display, Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable internal storage. The processor runs at a clock speed of 2.0GHz and also enables you to extend the storage to up to 128GB.

The handset ships with a 13MP rear camera sensor with dual-LED flash and f/2.2 aperture including a 5MP front-facing snapper with f/2.2 aperture. The Redmi 4 Pro draws it power from the large 4100mAh battery, which is the same as Redmi Note 3. Moreover, the phone will be loaded with the latest Android Marshmallow on top of MIUI 8.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A

Redmi 4A features a Snapdragon 425 processor, Adreno 308 graphics, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB. However, the capacity of the battery is 3120mAh, which is smaller than Redmi 4. The phone will be available in Gold and rose Gold color variants.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Price and Availability in India

Redmi 4 handsets will be available in China starting at 699 Yuan for the standard edition. The Redmi 4 Pro will be available for 899 Yuan and will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver color variants. If you look at Redmi 4A, the phone is priced at 499 Yuan, which is around Rs. 4900.

If Redmi 4A is introduced in India, then average users will be able to purchase a quality smartphone at a price they can afford. We expect the launch of new Redmi handsets by the end of Q1 2017.
