Xiaomi will launch its Mi Max phablet at an event in New Delhi on June 30. The company will also launch its global version of customized UI, the MIUI 8, which is based on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The MIUI 8 packs formidable new features complimented with redesigned interface, bug fixes, and augmented stability. Among the features include a refurbished Gallery app affording better filters, crop capabilities, and video editing tools. There is a high-tech calculator which enables the easy user conversion of currencies, temperatures, and atmospheric pressures into any unit. It also features premium quality lock screen from 50 media partners
Other notable feature includes a Notes app, which can be securely locked using a password or the user’s fingerprint. Additionally, there is a text message filter which alerts the users of phishing or suspicious looking fraud messages and a power saving mode which switches off unwanted apps in the background and conserving power.
Xiaomi Mi Max
Coming to the phablet which has already launched in China, it boasts a 6.44-inch full HD (1080p) display. It is available in three versions:
- 32GB storage + 3GB RAM powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 SoC
- 64GB storage + Three GB RAM powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC
- 128GB storage + 4GB RAM powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC
The phablet is equipped with a 16MP primary camera complemented with PDAF and LED flash. Additionally, it also has a 5MP secondary camera for selfies and video chat. The Mi Max is powered by a 4,850mAh battery and Quick Charge support. It is compatible with 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, and Bluetooth. The Mi Max is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow platform.
The company has not given out pricing details of these devices. Mi Max is selling in China for 1499 Yuan, which is about Rs. 15,300 and varies upwards to 1,999 Yuan (Rs. 20,500 approximately).
