Mi 6X

Rumours have been swirling around the upcoming Mi 6X handset since the beginning of this year. Now, an alleged retail box of the handset has surfaced online. This alleged retail box of the Xiaomi Mi 6X has revealed a few key specifications and features of the upcoming handset.

Spotted by folks at Slashleaks, the Xiaomi Mi 6X box reveals a more powerful Kyro Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood, as opposed to earlier leaks which indicated a Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor.

Elsewhere, the box suggests the handset will come with a USB-Type C port, implying the handset won’t feature a dedicated 3.5mm port for audio. Other specifications revealed by the box include a 20MP+8MP dual-lens setup on the back.

For selfies, the handset will feature a 20MP front-facing shooter with support for ‘Portrait Mode’. In terms of OS, the Mi 6X will run Android 8.0 Oreo with Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI 9 skin atop. Finally, the box indicates the handset will carry a rather moderate 2910 mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Mi 6X will be officially announced at an event scheduled for April 25th, where we’ll know everything about the upcoming handset.

In other related news, Xiaomi is reportedly planning the launch of another budget handset called the ‘Redmi S2’. The device is said to launch only in the Chinese and Indian markets.
