Xiaomi Mi 5s ceramic body and camera samples teased ahead of launch

Xiaomi has shared the pictures captured from the handset dubbed as Mi 5s on their official forum by the Super moderator – vincent_khoo. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared sample images on his Weibo account captured from Mi 5s, expected to launch on September 27.

After that, the company shared few more sample images captured using Xiaomi Mi 5s on the MIUI forum thread.

Commenting on the development, Vincent on the forum post disclosed that the company hired a professional photography team to travel around the world and have taken some amazing photos with Mi 5s. They are very impressed with the performance of Mi 5s camera. He also revealed that the camera resolves a great deal of detail with the noise levels are kept reasonably low.

Rumors of naming Mi 5s as Mi Note S put to rest

There were rumors that the new handset will be named as Mi Note S instead of Mi 5s. With the posting of pictures on the official forum, it is clear that Xiaomi will release the phone with the name Mi 5s. Moreover, this had put the rumors to rest since we need to believe the official forum.

Talking about the design, Xiaomi revealed that the handset will have a ceramic body and will also bear a fingerprint scanner. However, the company hasn’t clarified whether Mi 5s will be available in glass and ceramic variants.

Xiaomi Mi 5s excels in AnTuTu benchmark

Last week, Xiaomi released a teaser image which showed an excellent AnTuTu benchmark score of 164,119 by the Mi 5s smartphone. Interestingly, the teaser image was released soon after the launch of LeEco Le Pro 3, which scored 163,544 in the benchmark test. If you notice, Xiaomi Mi 5s has a slight edge over Le Pro 3 when it comes to performance.

On the specifications front, the Mi 5s will flaunt a 5.5-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 821 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, 6GB RAM loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of MIUI 8. Earlier, Xiaomi had teased a vertical dual-camera setup on the handset.

According to previous rumors, Xiaomi could also launch a smaller 4-inch variant of the Mi 5s at its event. We don’t have any official confirmation about the launch of a smaller variant from the company.
