Xiaomi launches Mi Max Prime phablet with 4850mAh battery, sale starts October 17

Xiaomi Mi Max Prime has been launched with Snapdragon 652 processor at Rs. 19,999. The handset will be available for purchase on October 17 exclusively through Mi.com on the occasion of special Diwali sale.

Touted to be the successor to the previously launched Mi Max, the company had announced that they are planning to unveil a new smartphone with Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage. However, the company has decided to give a naming makeover by calling it as Mi Max Prime.

Xiaomi Mi Max Prime and Mi Max differences

The main difference between Mi Max and Mi Max Prime is the changes in the processor, RAM, and internal storage. If you look at the specifications of Mi Max, the phone features a Snapdragon 650 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Mi Max Prime is equipped with a Snapdragon 652 processor alongside 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi Max Prime Specifications

On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime flaunts a 6.44-inch FHD display with a pixel density of 342PPI. The newly released Mi Max Prime offers a facility to expand memory up to 128GB via a microSD card. While Mi Max shipped with MIUI 7, the Prime variant is pre-loaded with MIUI 8.

The rear camera is infused with a 16-megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. Talking about front-facing snapper, the Mi Max Prime is equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor with 85-degree wide-angle view.

The 4850mAh battery integrated with the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime provides a capability to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback. In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Mi Max Prime offers support for Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass, and Wi-Fi paired with Mimo.

With a thickness of 7.5mm, the Mi Max Prime measures 203 grams. It also ships with a universal remote control via infrared emitter in addition to an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.
