Under the hood, Black Shark 2 gets powered by top-of-the-line octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. There are two variants for the Indian market, comprising 8/128GB  and 12/256GB RAM and UFS 2.1 storage versions. Similar to its predecessor, this one too has a vapour cooling chamber, accompanied by Liquid Cool 3.0 technology for better heat management while gaming.

In the optics department, the phone gets a dual camera set up at the back. The module comprises of a 48-megapixel primary sensor that comes with an f/1.75 lens. Furthermore, there’s a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor along with an f/2.2 lens that offers 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the phone features a 20-megapixel sensor at the front along with an f/2.0 lens.

All of this is backed by a massive 4,000 mAh battery. And fortunately, the phone does come with 27W fast charging support, touted to juice 60 per cent of the battery within 30 minutes. Just like the first gen model, Xiaomi has introduced optional accessories that can be attached on the device.

Moreover, the device has a triple microphone setup and comes with stereo speakers aided by AI-based noise reduction and anti-howling sound experience. Lastly, connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Price in India

The Black Shark 2 India price starts at Rs. 39,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Whereas, the top-end model with 12/256GB configuration costs Rs. 49,999. At this price point, the device will indirectly compete with OnePlus 7 Pro. While both the smartphones are intended for different audiences, the Black Shark 2 surely offers better value for money over the latter.

For those unaware, Black Shark, despite being a Xiaomi ecosystem Company, will operate independently in India. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how does the phone fare in the Indian market.
