When F.R.I.E.N.D.S. came face to face with technology

Alright “tech savvy” world, it’s about time you learned what bits of technology got our old FRIENDS from New York pumping. Be it devices or games, they did it all before we even learned to write a paragraph. For a decade they made the world laugh with themselves and shed a tear or two as the scenes swelled the hearts up. And for the likes of myself, they still do it, as we keep doing the re-runs (not to mention the brilliant compilations on YouTube).

Alright.. I gotta start with Chandler’s laptop. The king of sarcasm had quite the eye for technology. He purchased/received from work a piece that is quite the gem. A vintage Contura 3/25 series 2820a.

The specs: “12 megabytes of RAM, 500-megabyte hard drive, built-in spreadsheet capabilities and a modem that transmits at over 28,000 bps”

And what was he going to use it for?

games and stuff

“What games” you ask?

play doom

That’s right. He fought hordes of demons and the undead in order to survive. Just like we do!

Remember when they got the Recliners? Who else was sad when ‘Rosita’ passed away? 😛

Don’t tell me you haven’t ever thought of getting your hands on one of these bad boys! If you have, but you still haven’t figured out the model number, here it is, La-Z-boy Recliner 3000. Thank us later!

Moving on…

Who remembers Ross’ synth? The synthesizer appears to be a vintage Yamaha DX series.

And his sound.

Here comes the part where he ends the music with an expression

Wasn’t it easier to fool grandma when there were no DVDs and CDs, but only VCR!

How good does it feel to be reminded of simpler times

Believe it or not, this is the world’s first commercially used mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTac.

You know what else reminds us old souls of a simpler time? The time when we still hadn’t finished watching all of the episodes of this timeless classic. I wish I could unwatch them and watch them all over again. I’d do thirteen times each episode, again! Share if you agree.
